In 4Rooms, two people wear VR glasses and play a video game in which they need to observe and use their environment to solve various puzzles.

Although both play at the same time, they face two different virtual settings. While one finds him- or herself in a science fiction environment, the other experiences a steampunk world. Additionally, their tasks in the game are also distinct from each other.

The most fascinating feature of 4Rooms, however, is the fact that the two players unknowingly play the same game. Each time they seem to interact with the game’s artificial intelligence, they actually cooperate with the respective other player. Due to well-planned level design that leads to an intelligent movement, the players never physically meet until the very end of the game, even though they simultaneously move inside the same tracking area of 6 by 6 meters.
