The two day workshop set the goal of collecting artistic perspectives on mixed reality in public spaces, set and define the context of their work, generate Ideas and open a discussion on the sustainability of digital art in public spaces, including their documentation and archiving. Additionally, the workshop provides the participants with room to talk about how open calls can be made attractive for artists.
The first day started with a short greeting by Chris Geiger, followed by an introduction of the participants, their themes and how they use technology in their work and the archival process.
After a lunch break, the workshop guests were invited to the hive lab for demonstrations of MIREVI-Projects to collect inspiration. With these impressions in mind, the groups had some time to develop their ideas before ending the day with a short wrap up, refocussing the effort on defining how Mixed Reality Open Calls and the general working environment can be improved.
The second day was spent refining preexisting ideas in groups before ending the day by sharing insights and discussing remaining questions.
