On the 21st of September 2024, Ulm invited all people interested in art and culture to a special event: The “Kulturnacht Ulm/Neu-Ulm”. From afternoon to 3am, more than 100 participating projects showed their works, ranging from live music, performing arts, open ateliers and literature readings to workshops for children and adults.

Within the context of nextmuseum.io and as part of Museum Ulm’s event “Pixel meets Mittelalter im Museum Ulm!”, MIREVI presented three projects:

Our first installation “Magical Window” utilizes a beamer for projection and a Kinect Azure for movement tracking to imitate stained glass windows and interactive light refractions. As users move through the scattered light cast by the cathedral window, the light is influenced by motion.

In “Parallax”, viewers can learn about the history of the Ulm Minster and the altar built by Martin Schaffner in the 16th century.

Finally, we showed 16 excerpts from Persona Fractalis II, presenting a highlight reel of it’s most beautiful moments. Over the course of the evening, we were happy to share our projects with several hundred visitors.
