Two dancers and five LED Screens on stage in Karlsruhe.

After the successful debut of Precious Camouflage at tanzhaus nrw this summer, the piece by Charlotte Triebus and MIREVI was shown as a guest performance at the ZKM Karlsruhe on Wednesday, the 13th and Thursday, the 14th.

The piece for four dancers and four AI-systems examines the collaboration between human and artificial agents who produce realistic content, mimic humans and become independent actors within the production. The dancers of Triebus’ New Human Body Society act together with the autonomous systems that perceive, decide, act and influence both choreography and the action on stage.

Through dance, Precious Camouflage examines the nature of intelligence by exploring communication between natural and artificial agents that targets questions about body, art, action and interaction. With increasingly realistic images created by generative artificial intelligence, the relationship between human and system becomes more and more complex: Who controls, moves, and influences whom? The piece reveals the the gap of simply perceiving and truly understanding the performance on stage.

Precious Camouflage was produced under the Artistic Direction of Charlotte Triebus, with close scientific support and implementation by MIREVI.
