This past weekend, the 20th edition of “TEMPS D’IMAGES” opened its doors, presenting pieces, projects, and installations on the intersection of dance and technology. The dance festival of our long-time partner tanzhaus nrw runs from January 17th to January 26th.
After the premiere of “Precious Camouflage” in summer 2024 at tanzhaus nrw, the piece returns as an interactive installation. Instead of dancers engaging with interconnected AI systems, visitors are invited to engage with these systems independently. “Precious Camouflage OS” offers the opportunity to experience entanglement and distortion between reality and the point of view of artificial agents firsthand. The goal is to learn how systems are trained to interpret human input and build communication between natural and artificial actors.
As a second installation, we present Joelle Schonhoff’s “The Poetry of Motion”. The piece about the impermanence of dance uses motion tracking data of dancers as the basis for an animation, 3D-printed sculptures, and an augmented reality experience.
