A semester past is a semester full of new MIREVI projects, thought out and realised by talented students in our seminars. In case you did not make it to this year’s student showing, here’s a short overview of the projects presented this year.

Digitale Vernetzung
Slime Mold is neither animal nor plant, but these interesting organisms have an interesting skill: They can find the most efficient connection between two points with ease. Digitale Vernetzung (Digital Connection) lets users change these points while a slime mold generated using artificial intelligence reacts in real time.
Tür
In Tür, (Door) users don a virtual reality headset before stepping through the door in to a medieval world. Movement and interaction with the door change the world around the viewer.
Schwarzes Loch
In schwarzes Loch (Black Hole), the user can become part of a galaxy as a black hole and swallow up the stars (and fellow black holes) around them.
L-Systeme
Using an L-System and an array of input possibilities including moisture and proximity sensors, visitors can generate a unique plant and print them to take them home.
Body Coordinates
For Body Coordinates, the motion capture data of a person doing martial arts movements are projected on the halo stage from three different perspectives. There are several movements and states in between to view and investigate, chosen by the position of a viewer in front of the wall.
Fluides Leuchten
Inspired by marine bioluminescence, Fluides Leuchten uses a kinect azure for tracking feet and LED Flooring as a display to mimic the visual experience of walking through glowing algae.
Depth Traveller
If one picture isn’t enough, Depth Traveller allows the user to move beyond the edges of the image or delve deeper into the image using generative AI.
Schwarm
Schwarm (Swarm) simulates the behaviour of a bird swarm on the Halo Stage. Using hand tracking, the User can become a virtual bird of prey and influence the swarm.
Fractal Club
Hidden behind black molton, Fractal Club build a small, secluded space for dancing, listening to music and watching fractal visuals. A big fractal on the ceiling is influenced by the beat of the music while the visitor’s shapes were mirrored on the walls.
