After the end of the semester, student projects way too often disappear in folders and archives, never to be seen again. To combat this and end a semester full of strong projects on a high note, we held our first student project showcase (or “Werkschau”). Part exam, part celebration, this allows our students to present their work to an interested audience including representatives from cultural institutions like museums and theatres in NRW.

All twelve projects were developed in the past semester by students from the faculties of media and design within the context of five courses all hosted at MIREVI. Over the past six months and with regular brainstorming and feedback sessions with our team, the groups developed their ideas to working projects. Free to chose their tools, technologies and means of expressions, the students realised a variety of end products, including but not limited to augmented virtual reality applications, dance performances, immersive games and media art installations.

Opening at 5pm, both exhibition rooms stayed full until the last performance.
